We just adopted/rescued an abandoned cat, he’s about a year old — and he eats his food like it’s his last meal. He threw up a couple times which sent me on a search for something to slow him down.
And this definitely works. He still has the habit of not chewing his food, but he can no longer just inhale all his kibble in a few seconds.
We feed him 4 times a day, and he eats all the dispensed kibble in one sitting, but we’re still hopeful that eventually he will learn that he doesn’t need to eat everything in a panic.

I was trying to find a way to have my cats eat slower but still have a gravity feeder. This is has been great. I got two of them. Food kinda gets caught at the bottom opening which works well bc my cats use their paw to grab the food and makes them work for it a bit so they don’t just gorge themselves. It doesn’t hold a ton of food at one time but I have 2 cats and 2 feeders. I refill them every few days which isn’t bad.
I love how this simple mechanical design lets you control how easy -- or hard -- it is for your cat to access food. Works great for slowing down my over-eager eater so she doesn't scarf and barf! Plus it keeps her entertained because she likes the challenge. 😼
